![]() Irons, New 'Perfect Man' To Replace Oldman by Top Stories, Vogue DONNA KARAN has found the new perfect man for her spring/summer 2001 advertising campaign. And it’s another Brit. Next season, Jeremy Irons will be taking the mainline mantel from Gary Oldman, who starred alongside his Fifth Element co-star Milla Jovovich in the autumn/winter posters. “Donna picked Jeremy Irons because of his sophistication and his elegance,” says Patti Cohen, spokeswoman for the company. “And he is very much the artisan man.” Milla, meanwhile, survives to model for another season. The glamorous pair were taken to Vietnam to pull poses for lensman Mikaeil Jansson in and around Ho Chi Minh City. “Donna thought the setting would make the campaign like an adventurous, romantic journey,” Cohen goes on. “It’s an East meets West idea and these two models have terrific personalities, so the pictures are all about them, about how they wear the clothes, not how the clothes wear them.”
The Caravelle Hotel was pleased to welcome the celebrated British actor Mr. Jeremy Irons to Ho Chi Minh City during his recent visit. Mr. Irons enjoyed the hospitality of the City and its people, and was amazed at the friendly welcome he received during his visit. Leaving a tired but happy man, he promised to return again to what he called ‘this wonderful country’ |
