The jury for the Cannes Film Festival which opens on May 10 is headed by French director Luc Besson and includes the novelists Patrick Modiano of France and Arundhati Roy of India. Other members of the nine-strong team are British actors Jeremy Irons and Kristin Scott-Thomas, actresses Barbara Sukowa (Germany), Aitana Sanchez-Gijon (Spain) and Nicole Garcia (France), and the filmmakers Mario Martone (Italy) and Jonathan Demme (US).
