French Award For Jeremy Irons

British actor Jeremy Irons was handed an honourary Cesar for his 22-year movie career, which has spanned the range from Hollywood ("Die Hard 3") to intimate European productions ("The French Lieutenant's Woman.") Dressed in a long Mandarin-style robe and speaking in decent French, the 53-year-old Irons thanked the theatre for the trophy, which he said was "the most beautiful in the world - but that's France for you."  |
