His full name is Jeremy John Irons. You can actually make out the initials JJI in the delicate engraving on his
signet ring, if the picture is large and sharp enough.
He also has a home in West Cork, Ireland.
His correct and verified height is 6' 3" Most recent (of many throughout his career) award: Lifetime Achievement Award of the European Film Academy, presented to a "person whose lifework has made a special contribution to world cinema," for his entire body of work in films. (Click here to read News article.) The most beautiful, expressive and sensuous part of him (IMHO) : his hands. Appearances with his fellow luminaries of dance, music, cinema and even meeting royalty! Cigarette most often reported smoking: Silk Cuts (although I sympathize with Scavullo, who has remarked, "He worries me because he smokes so much.")
Vehicles currently owned: Audi A6 quatro estate, BMW cruising bike and Ducati motorbike (a "Ferrari on two wheels.") ![]() Vehicles formerly owned: Umm (Czech) four-wheel-drive jeep, Morris Minor, Honda 50, Volkswagen rag-top Beetle. Read a whole interview exclusively about what he drives in
The Guardian.
Special Vacation: Taken on Antigua in 1991 (That's both Max AND Sam!) Favorite sundial: He commissioned one for his garden from Favorite soap: (OK, I read it in an Australian newspaper) Lush, Sea Vegetable
TV Commercial Voice-Over: Yes! --Believe it or not-- for Lexus. Favorite pastimes: motorcycling, horseback riding, hunting and sailing. ![]()
Singing and Dancing ability: Most definitely! although, by his own admission, "I sing like an actor and dance like a duck." I say he sings like an actor but dances like a cross between Fred Astaire and Steve Martin. (Just look at his rendition of a number from "The Merry Widow" at the end of A Chorus of Disapproval if you don't believe me...) Single most enthralling scene in any of his movies: Ellie and Bev both Complete and authoritative biographies of Jeremy can be found in the
